When a new profile is created or opened, none of the folder checkboxes are selected. However, if run, the program will synchronize all the folders - even though none are selected. Shouldn't all the folders initially be selected to indicate that all the folders will be synchronized?
It's confusing to me that no folders selected means synchronize all folders, but one folder selected means only synchronize that one folder. To me, no folders selected should mean no folders synchronized.
Only synchronize selected folders
1. Start the program.
2. I see two windows. The one on top is titled, "Synchronization wizard" and is asking me what I want to do: a) Synchronize between several Outlook files, b) Make backup of all your current Outlook data or c) Restore the backup data. There's also a check box to "Don't show wizard at startup. Behind this window, is the main program window. It shows the last (and only) profile I've ever run, with the Source file as p:\2005Dell.pst (drive P is mapped to a subdirectory across the network on another machine) and the target as c:\long-path\2005Compaq.pst.) In the Wizard window, the first choice is pre-selected.
3. In the Wizard window, I click Next.
4. I'm asked to select the source file, it's already filled in as p:\2005Dell.pst.
5. I click next.
6. I'm asked to select the target file, it's already filled in as c:\long path\2005Compaq.pst.
7. I click next.
8. I'm then asked for the type of synchronization I want, either Source <-> Target, Source -> Target or Source <- Target. I've tried both of the top two choices. At this point, I can press the Synchronize button and Synchronization will occur on all folders - even though none of the folders are selected. In fact, I'm never given an opportunity to select the folders.
Here's a copy of my screen just before I can choose to synchronize.

sync selected folders
Does trhe current versin offer you the opportunity to sync only selected folder, rather than automatically syncing all foldewrs? If so I would like ot purchase, but it is critical I only sync contacts!
Re: sync selected folders
Yes, that's absolutely possible, but without using a wizard. You should quit Wizard and use "normal" interface, selecting only those folders to sync which you need to.wtilghman wrote:Does trhe current versin offer you the opportunity to sync only selected folder, rather than automatically syncing all foldewrs?
